You recently moved back to Canada from L.A. Why did you decide to move back and what made you choose Vancouver?

I love Los Angeles, but Vancouver has my heart. I initially moved to Vancouver in 2011, moved away a few times but I always come back. There are very few cities that have downtown, ocean, mountains, and countryside all within 60 minutes of each other.

As a representative of The Skin Girls, you must be very attentive to your skin. What’s your routine?

There are three keys to good skin: First is products. Stop going to Sephora. Then try IS Clinical cleanser and serums, Rejudicare Retinol or Obaji Clenziderm Kit for acne-prone skin. (This is the holy grail of acne lines, and helped me get through my early 20s). Next is diet. Everything that goes in comes out (even on your face), so make good choices about your diet and lifestyle. Third is maintenance. Find yourself a good facialist and see her ever four to six weeks religiously.

With such a busy schedule and lots of travelling, what’s your best trick to combat fatigue?

Water and sleep (wherever & whenever you can).

What makeup products do you always have with you?

I like to keep it simple. I use these every day: Jane Iredale Glow Time® Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream and PurePressed® Blush, NYX eyebrow cake powder and NYX soft matte lip colour in “cannes”.

Do you have any beauty/fashion icons?

Naomi Campbell, Magdalena Frackowiak, Elsa Hosk, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

What’s the best beauty advice you ever received?

“Invest in your skincare and taking care of your skin. Doing that makes your skin shine and glow. Have the makeup be the second thing that makes you beautiful.”

Can you tell me when you feel most beautiful?

When I have fresh clear skin (usually the day after a facial) and air-dried hair.

What are you most proud of?

The fact that I’ve always followed my heart. I’ve moved countries for love, taken risks with jobs, and travelled to pursue dreams. All with no promise or guarantee.

You’re a big advocate for “bare beauty” (no makeup). What would be your advice for women to feel confident?

I believe that it’s most important for a woman to feel confident naked, in her own skin. In this year, the world focuses so much on how to change your appearance that we often forget what makes us unique underneath it all. A woman should focus on that and what makes her special. Then she can add makeup, hair, or an outfit, not because she has to but because she wants to. The goal is to enhance, not change.

What is The Skin Girls, and what’s next for you?

The Skin Girls is a results-based medical spa in Vancouver, B.C., with honest pricing. It has an outstanding reputation in the industry, which is why it’s a go-to for high-profile clients such as Olivia Munn and Lucy Hale. The owner, Lisa Marie Blais, has been doing my skin since 2015, and last year I approached her for a job. Since then it’s been an incredible experience working with her and her amazing team. Right now there are a lot of things in the works that I can’t yet talk about... so keep your eye on the gram.
